The Problem Solving Practitioner course is a two-day training focused on key areas that are crucial for enhancing the Navy’s warfighting capabilities and leadership effectiveness. The Problem Solving Practitioner course is for personnel who are involved in problem-solving efforts.
No PSP prerequisite was provided in the updated FAQ content. Students should follow the PSP Enrollment Guide and any command-specific guidance before registering.
The PSP course is in-person only. There are no online or virtual options.
The Train the Trainer course is a five-day course that provides students with a deeper understanding of the PSP curriculum as well as the instructional techniques required to teach the PSP course.
The T3 course is for personnel who have already completed the PSP course and have been identified by their command or Fleet, Force, or SYSCOM Improvement Office (FIO) as candidates to become PSP instructors. Personnel registering for the T3 course should have experience participating in problem-solving efforts. T3 graduates will deliver PSP courses within their command, community, or geographical area.
Once you’ve taken and passed the T3 course, you must co-facilitate or “teach-back” a PSP course alongside a certified PSP instructor. This teach-back must either be recorded or witnessed by a member of the OWA Education Division so the candidate’s performance can be reviewed. If the candidate’s performance is satisfactory, OWA Education Division personnel will certify that candidate as a PSP Instructor who can lead their own PSP courses.
